Hey I'm planning to dismantle the EGR and the Manifold of my Perdana v6 to clean it.

But I have been looking for chemicals to wash off the carbon deposit ... Still couldn't find it !!!
Anyone with one recommendation ?

Some ppl even propose me to just seal off the EGR !!! ???
Any comments ?? on the sealing part ?

If you have the time, soak it in those detergents or degreasers overnight.

If you don't have the time, use petrol. That stuff removes everything. But make sure you wear a mask.

Bro. Izso, I saw at my mechanic's place he have one plastic pail of liquid, but not sure what it is. He mentioned for cleaning engine stuff. He just submerge the parts inside for a while then take out and clean. Comes out like new, and suppose not to submerge the stuff too long. Must be pretty corrosive....:hmmmm:

Did the cleaning yesterday using those the car wash shop chemical. Apparently it works marvelously on aluminium n plastic. Worth begging the 'ane' to sell me the chemical.
On the dismantling event found out that my EGR hose spoilt which i quoted around 1k plus just for the hose. Haih .... Have to do it the 'malaysia boleh' way by shutting down the EGR and at the TB, the connector for the radiator hose also gone case !!!! Have to bring it to the engineering shop next week to replace the connector.
