canon 1000d or sony a300

i checked out at cnet reviews and seems like canon gets more mark than sony alpha.
diff is the IS (image stabilizer) is built in into the body of Sony therefore making the lens pirce cheaper. meanwhile the IS of the canon is on the lens like most other DSLRs. where the lens are much more pricy.
i'm plannin to get the 1000d. but still hunting for sumthin with HD - HiDef.

obviously the canon 1000D
better in terms of noise level control also expanding/upgrading is alot cheaper compared to the sony. Sony body also depreciate alot interms of 2nd hand value
