BMW and Auto Bavaria have just opened the newest addition to their Malaysian dealership network, an Auto Bavaria BMW 4S dealership located in Johor Bahru, which is coincidently the largest premium automotive showroom and service center in the peninsula’s south.
The showroom is located at the RAT Auto building along Jalan Skudai, a prime location that allows it to provide the brand’s trademark depth of choice and service to the customers in the southern region.
“The southern state of Johor Bahru is an important and growing market for the premium car segment here in Malaysia, as the area contributes more than 600 cars to the segment annually. With the right presence and support, this market has the potential of growing to 1000 cars over the next three years,” said Geoffrey Briscoe, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia.
Housed under the roof of the 36,899 square foot dealership will be the sales office, customer lounge, BMW car display area with the capacity to showcase eight cars at any one time and a BMW Lifestyle display area.
The showroom will also house the workshop and service area with two BMW FastLane bays, two BMW Service Reception bays, 16 full service bays, one wheel alignment bay, one air conditioning service bay as well as the training room.
“Establishing our new BMW 4S facility here is only phase one of our expansion plans for Johor. Next year, we will move into the second phase of our plan which is to establish a new BMW Premium Selection centre, a new MINI showroom and a BMW Group Body and Paint facility here in Johor Bahru,” said Dean Brigham, Managing Director of Auto Bavaria, a division of Sime Darby Motor Division.
Sales for the group are promising as yet, with a total sales of 3,821 vehicles from the BMW, Mini and Motorrad range as of September this year. Compared to the same period last year, only 2,973 vehicles had been pushed, marking an improvement of 9.4 per cent.
