With most subscribers here being half a world away from us, its hard to describe what the TX2K13 event is all about. Most youtube videos you'll see show some cars at the strip, but many vids will also show illegal street racing. For us, its quite an enjoyable weekend event involving only legal racing with our Alpha Omega R35 GT-R.
Omega is our flagship/show car/engineering platform we use to push the powertrain limits of the R35 GT-R. Still full-weight with A/C, interior, upholstery, radio, etc and roll cage. It is also still very streetable and really not all that noisy under part throttle.
This time out at the TX2K13, our plan was to test a new traction control system and burnout mode with a Syvecs stand alone ECU to allow Omega to heat the rear DR tires for better traction.
Unfortunately, track conditions were not the same as last year. With most of the big power Supras missing in action as well as other monster rwd cars that normally would lay down thick sticky rubber, traction was a lot worse this year and hard to gauge the success of our testing. It seemed we got the system to work to some extent but ran out of time to make adjustments.
Although we did not beat our current standing world record of [email protected] from last year, we still had the fastest trap speed of the event and the quickest GT-R in competition.
