Cheap tyres cannot simply whack kaw kaw mia...my car skidded for having that thinking LOL! For now, no good tyres = no hardcore driving...
That is why I mention up to their limit. Usually in the dry they will still have quite good performance, but in the wet, will have vast differences.....

I guess Flintstone is the safest to use...threadwear lifespan longer... Good braking power too...

Still more confident with Michelin :top:

Flintstone will be super rock hard, no comfort.....kakakakakakaka:rofl:

Cannot go by tyre brand, but by tyre model as every brand have their own range from entry level to top rated Max performance tyres.....

Just a few days ago, one member inform me of his track day in Sepang.
Using normal road tyre (non semi slick) he first use 38psi, started to loose grip after a few laps.
Then he tried at 28psi and was surprised it gripped better.....
tyre presuure also very important..too high can make tyre highly spin....

bcoz people keep forgetting that its the ZIEX series....which is for normal drive...n they keep thinking it some sort of performance tire...

AZENIS series is the Falken's performance class tires.... take the discontinued ST115 for example.. stiff sidewall... super dry grip.. and absolutely awesome wet grip... n its quiet too... even found a review on an ICE webpage recommending this tire for ICE setups.

Firenza tyres used to copy this ST115 pattern, but also have stopped, now more towards Yoko S-Drive pattern in their ST-08....Even their FK452 will be replaced by the 453 pattern...

Have not tried the ATR Sports before, but for the Champiro HPY I am on one set now.
The tyres are pretty awesome. I would say about 85 to 90% of my GY Asy2 performance in the dry. I have not gone all out in the wet yet. Aquaplaning resistance also not bad. Tyres are only 2/3 of GY price.
Main cons for me is they are pretty stiff for ride comfort, but if using for track play will be good.
If compared to ATR, I think they are much better as I am already comparing with GY Asy2......

Bro, if you say its stiff - does it mean its also emit loud noise? I saw that there are 4 huge drains for aquaplanning, which means the centre rib is quite thick - dunno if it is too loud for comfort. As for Achilles, i been on it for more than 6 months edi..so far so good, still sharp handling and value for money

Stiff as in hard sidewall, not noisy. I hear some say ATR is noisy, yours not?

Hi Bro Vr2turbo,

I c, thanks for the feedback... so its the sidewall....well ATR defnitely have noise, probably its ok for me becos my prev donut - ziex 912 also have noise, cant differenciate the level of noise between the 2 brands...think champiro should be my next target...btw have you heard about Martial/Marshal tyres - apparently this from Kumho...
