V6...anything below 2.5l is crap - it's not worth the trouble.

that means you haven't met with manual trans 6a12 yet.

maybe you can done chasis enhancement first. some perdana v6 with hard adjustable susp setup cracked their chassis especially near the front absorber top mount. (including me )

for 6a10 n/a setup, do a proper exhaust piping and muffler. you can change exhaust manifold (cost about 1k).. custom intake manifold (6-700).. add piggyback management.

wan't more power? swap to 6a12/6a13 block.
