debris?? hrmm..maybe,but i realize it after a few 180kmph run...was doing close to 180kmph in gear 4...rpm,around 5500-6000rpm,thn i think i heard something like the valve sound,only for a second or so..release the throttle,and the sound disappeared. After that,morning start,back from work start up...major noise..now maybe wana try changing to some thicker oil...not using Semi syn...

hahahaa,same here.wana hav 2 cars,but also cant afford it yet.. :(

Well... that one I never experienced before, so I can't really advice. Maybe some other taiko can advice =) But I have always used semi-synthetic... from Magnatec, to Endless to HKS. Then stayed with HKS for damn long... but lately N1 stopped bringing in HKS semi synthetic, my last service was using Greddy Synthetic (which N1 now brings in).

Technically I was having 2 cars... one for everyday drive (Myvi) one to play (Satria)... but I sold my satria adi =p haha

Uhhh.... as far as I know, carb don't have rev cut... maybe something is choking the intake that's causing the revs not to go higher? I'm not sure... i'm not a carbie pro

thik wud go for the cheaper solution first. using a thicker grade oil,or maybe using mineral 10w -40 from motul also... if no improvement,then $$$ bye bye.. huhuhuhu.... been starting up the engine and leaving it idling till d noise disappears, even after 10minits, noise still there..only till i rev it up a little does the noise disappear... sucks when things like this happens..take good care of the car,just finish paying my car loan...just when i was thinking of a few upgrades,this happens..hahahahaha.. btw,alvin, what made u decide to sell of ur car?? since u had 2 cars already?? other commitment?? or other bigger car project??
aerrike, yeap,ike what alvin mention..i dont think carb engine hav rev cuts...did try whacking a iswara 4G13 b4,rev way beyond 8000rpm...hehehehehehe..but engine shakes lke mad ody la..hahahahaaha

4G13 to 8k is normal for me, that why when go 4G91 cab can only go 6500 ~ 7000 rpm...everytime reach it will kick back or drop then go to 6700 will do again and agian....
My 4G91 cab got 1 ECU with 2 big socket (1 for cab / 1 for ing timing)

nothing block the carb....event the 2nd barrel working when pull press

my 91 can rev till 6500 only,after that,no use...no power after that...
ermmm,,where is ur 'ECU' located??

Hi everyone....New user here...Just wanna ask you all guys how you all done your exhaust system..I found my car now super duper underpower,even though can't tapao a vios in pickup...I'm using 2" manifold and then straight to the back...why I totally can't feel the pickup n top speed......?

I've owned my Satria for 8 years adi lor... and in the past 2-3 years, my satria never even drove past 5000km. That's reason enough to sell it kua?
Coz' the car if just put around and don't drive... i realize slowly slowly got damn a lotta things to fix lor... first things that goes are all your rubber parts. Even my car battery I've changed 3 batteries in the past 3 years. =p

owhhh,like that..no wonder la wana sale..seldom use,yeah,..wil hav problems if left doing nuthin.. 3 batteries in 3 years??? thats alot of batteries... even tyres left flat also will have effect..flat spot..

jihwey, what do u mean lose in pick up??? gear 1 only lose then 2-3-4 can tapau ody?? or lose all the way???

Yea man... lol. Plus everyday drive stock car... somehow kinda like it also. hahaha... myvi is a really good car for everyday city drive =p Not that great for outstation travels though

very true..since age is catching up with me,my hard ride(using GAB hi-low only) use to like the ride ,but now,am even considering changing my suspension back to original,but use lowered springs..at least abit of comfort...hahahahaha.. and my 17in is not helping..only layan corner feel good... but just got myself a Mini Austin..hehehehe..maybe that will be my everyday car... :P wana play old skool...
TT session?? arggghhhhh.......if only i was not so far away.... :( but if i do come over to KL,might try and meet up....

Hi there....Because when my engine was done 3 months ago,I really did tapao vios for more than 100 metres u know...last time i using 1.3 engine exhaust,now i change it,totally crap u know....underpower like shit....sorry rude here...but really sad about that...any suggestion?

Wowz... old school wor really... parts easy to find ka for such a classic ride? I don't really like old school cars... at least not yet. haha... don't quite know how to appreciate them yet. How much did you buy it for anyway? But those cars can DIY at home... engine is quite small only, don't need those hardcore tools. Can probably do a full overhaul by urself, provided u know where to order all the parts. =)

Your manifold is 2" ?!? hahaha... do you mean the individual outlets from the engine or the exhaust is 2"? LoL... exhaust 2" inner diameter is too big for 4G91 actually... you need it to be 2" outer diameter (inner would be about 1.8). Bigger makes it more sluggish.
Straight flow helps your higher RPM, s-flow helps your mid range torque. If you wanna drag of course straight flow better... but if you want better torque for normal city driving then maintain s-flow.

Jiwey,i did change my piping using 2in piping,(outside) so i wud think the inner diameter wud be around 1.9-1.8in..first drive after changing the pipe,kinda feel sluggish...low rpm's. But after abit more of pedal,mid- high rpm,it does improve abit. Not so much,not what i was hoping for. Disappointed,a little. But cud be due to my original muffler..still using stock..hahahaa..headers using 4-2-1 from powerzone..Clutch slip?? change ur clutch yet??

Al,hehehe....belongs to my grandad..so,since he cant drive anymore,i decided to look after it.
Condition when i last check,still in good condition.Colour looks exactly like Mr Beans...hahahahaha.. Car not with me yet,only change name,coz dont wana take it when he is still around.Might affect him,something close to him suddenly gone,..so..u know la..just did the change of ownership b4 it is to late and leceh..
Btw, is 10W-40 to thin?? Engine oil??

10W-40 ar? Ummm... okay kua. Engine oils i not that expert... haha. My myvi currently running on Greddy synthetic =) Can't remember the rating... but I think it's 10W-40 also.

I guess I can understand regarding the name change... but on the other hand, there's nothing some 'undertable money' can't settle. When my dad suddenly passed away (not expected), I paid runner to kautim the name change for his car to my name.

Let us know how's the maintenance for the mini when the time comes for u to take over and look after it lar. I'm curious to know if parts is easily sourced and if they're expensive. =) Unfortunately I'm not quite into classic cars... else can join u sama gang. hehe...

Mini still using the original engine,and yeah..am wondering if parts are easy to buy..have been looking thru some forums etc...first thing first,..the stock rims..hehehehe

Exhaust shop eh?? hrmm..bought my piping readily made..duno what brand though..but did mine in Bintulu,Sarawak..so i cant really recommend any good exhaust shops in / around KL...did not really mod my car when i was there..no kaki that time,and was kinda bz with a girlfren..so,hahahaha..we all know when that happens... cant spend alot on 2 'ladies' in our life... no earn big bucks yet.. :P

hahha... yea dei, need to maintain 2 gf memang susah... if u have a gf and 2 cars... LAGI WORSE. LoLz...

EVO3 i don't think can register anymore... gotta do it with a 4G67 block (1.8 liter). Otherwise JPJ will never approve... coz' already got black+white stating protons cannot transplant 2.0

hahahaa,dah la that time when i was working in KL,just started... so,u know la how it is...maintain both,very hard..but once broke off..hahahahaa.... 17in rims d first month,the next,got myself a manual box...baru puas hati... :P
Owh ya kan..a fren did that on his SGTI... using a 4G67 block..hrmmm.... or,sud i save and get a proper 'sport car'??? evo 7-8, GTT34, or a DC2,5....but that will be in the next 2 years time la..not so soon... unless something came up,which is good for my finance..hehehe

tune,well,you can always start with those basic upgrades... extractor,..intake..servicing, check plugs and timing, fuel pressure reg...clean throttle body..just to get ur engine healthy.. then start from there... :)

Abt gear ratios,am not too sure myself.. hope other s can help.. hehehee,yeap,,u might need 1 month to read thru all those ages..

LoL... spend according to ur own budget lo. Which ever is more financially suitable. Okay lar, since you got mention about the mini... to tell u the truth I let go my satria coz' it was time to change la... play my satria for 8 years already =p Now getting a 'proper sports car' =)

Hi all, i have 1 things that wonder me a lot. i have this 1991 fourth generation Honda civic with 1.5L SOHC single carburated engine and manual 5-speed transmission gearbox. The questions are:

1) can i convert the carbureted engine into a THROTTLE BODY INJECTED(TBI) engine?

2) which is better convert to TBI or convert into b16a engine

3) if convert to b16a engine do i have to add E.C.U
