From a humble beginning in the Late Eighties, 5 Valve Per-Cylinder Four Throttle Yamaha was introduced to the world in the form of a Yamaha FZR1000 EXUP GENESIS. And from there onwards it grew ever potent that it was extended and introduced to 4A-GE linage that we all are very familiar with.

Not known to many, the very same team of engineers that developed this lovely head design was also responsible for Valentino Rossi 2004 YZR-M1 that stormed the circuit with blazing grace and glory - The rest is history. Of course YAMAHA owe this success largely to the godlike talent of Valentino Rossi who himself has become the primary factor for the engine development direction.

Today, once again Valentino took his YZR-M1 to victory. But most importantly the 20V design has been reverted to 16V for a much more predictable power delivery throughout the revs. Nonetheless, 20V Four Throttle still reign supreme with Road Production YZF-R1 and YZF-R7.

use two YAMAHA YZR-M1 2005 engines on a kancil then. not that it has not been done before (two hayabusa engines onto a lotus elise.) But kancil will have no space in front for the hybrid engines.

Not sure where my pic was but maybe MK know too (site)

It comes out like a V shaped engine.

Halo fren,

YAMAHA has always been in the background for the majority of Toyota's performance engine section. For example, Altezza's 3S-GE and Celica's 2ZZ-GE and a lot more. So I would not be surprised at all if back in Japan factory they work side-by-side in development of Toyota's F1 motor. Some engines like 1G-GTE and 3S-G even have YAMAHA word stamped on their Engines and Belt Cover.

agee with wandy,

"The Yamaha connection needs to be mentioned: Yamaha developed the Toyota
2000GT and was a partner of Toyota in the design of most successive G model heads. Most G engines/heads, including the 3SGE/3SGTE (now in it's 3rd generation), the Previa specific 2TZFE/Z (no relation to the old T engines), and the newest 2ZZGE engines were and are still designed and cast by Yamaha. The 4AGE and 2JZGE heads are proprietary Toyota designs and manufacture, although many components are still made and supplied by Yamaha."
