electro statically charged sub micron particles of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene)
and soluble molybdenum compounds suspended in and dispersed throughout the
carrier. This additive mixes with both mineral and synthetic oils to provide the
very best in protection from frictional wear and high temperatures. While there
are those who may doubt the effectiveness of the Teflon inside the product we
have an excellent analogy. Four households were each given the ingredients to
make a chocolate cake but after baking only one came out tasting perfect yet
they all had the same ingredients. The answer lies in how the ingredients were
mixed and with the technical knowledge of the maker to create a perfect product.
The manufacturers of Tufoil have a unique worldwide patented process, which
provides a way to incorporate the Teflon into the product to make it the best
additive available. Tufoil's PTFE suspension works itself deep in to the most
limited contact areas unaffected by other lubricants. The micron size of these
particles ranges between .02 and .5 microns so Tufoil will not clog filters or

• The peak power at 5500rpm drop was most probably due to heat from
  
  extensive dyno tests

[Verdict]

• Engine noise is now significantly lower and sounds a lot smoother
• Engine temperature and bonnet temperature has decreased
• Engine feels much smoother during idling
• Engine feels much smoother during hard acceleration
• Engine feels more powerful and smoother

Tufoil is definately worth a try, especially on older engines, it kills the
vibration and sounds especially the ticks from tappets. On newer engine, Tufoil
further protects and improves smoothness. Imagine the engine getting quieter as
you pour in and it revs much smoother. These are the noticeable initial effects.

Hmm... nice work, Tom. It's good to see quantitative evidence in here. But you didn't state what type of oil you used as a base. Since Tufoil contains mineral oils, why would you want to add it into a fully synthetic?

I wonder if Tufoil alters the viscocity properties of the engine oil... I've seen oil tests where additives made the oil more prone to foaming, less able to stick to the metal, etc.

I'm using it for my Galant (4G63 NA)... less tappet noise and engine feels smoother too. Again, this is very subjective.

its great stuff!

i'm using for my SLK :P and during Autocross, (usually my temp would read very close to H after my runs which is usually flat-out in 2nd till almost redline for almost most of the runs,

after using TuFoiL, it warmed up, and stayed put in the middle of the temp gauge!
AND this happend on a hot day, and consistently too!

oh, recently i lost some radiator water (my fault hehe) barely any water in the radiator!!
but it stayed okie.. no overheat problem, heheehe

Good review man,I want to buy one but 2 questions only:
1)Does this Tuffoil stuff last for a few oil changes or have to use for every oil change?

2)Suitable for turbocharged cars?I noticed most Engine additivies does not state..turbocharger friendly.

Great to hear of a local review for Tufoil. A first timer most certainly and thanks Tom & ZTH for you have fulfilled your obligation to your readers by putting Tufoil to the test.

How we wished you had an emission test done as well. Using a 4-exhaust gas analyser, one would be able to see that both carbon monoxide (CO) and Hydrocarbon (HC) levels drop drastically with the use of Tufoil. This is because the use of Tufoil makes engines run very efficiently and hence combustion is more complete. Efficient engines also use less fuel. So, what is there to grumble about the hike in petrol prices.

Tufoil has a synthetic oil base and not mineral, Mr. Bothusai.

Where lubrication quality is poor and unable to withstand high heat, turbo chargers are counting time before they end up in the scrapyards. Watch the videos at ACE HARDWARE stores on the four-ball test as done by the US-government's own test labs. It is 16 days against minutes for most brands. This is the kind of punishment your bearings get inside the engine. No wonder there is power loss in traffic jams.

We say here again as Tom tells why some cakes tastes better than others. Tufoil is highly respected for the technology. I just bought a Tufoil, it doesnt matter right if I pour engine oil in first or the tufoil first .. is the same right? so after pouring in both tufoil and engine oil let the engine run for 5 minutes then only drive the car? :unsure: .. And, for the first time using tufoil, pour in the whole bottle right? 2nd, 3rd, 4th service and so on just pour half of it? Can use twice lo for 1 bottle. :rolleyes: is this correct?
