Bubble removal Tank / Air Seperation Tank is widely used in industrial heat exchangers.

They're merely adopting this to Automotive application.

Its definately not a gimick however the reliability of the tank is the main concern.

As phat7 mentioned, Mazdas come standard with this system and if I'm not mistaken, so does Subaru.
 joeker, do u mind advising me about the reliability of the tank is the main concern??

I am interested, please dun flame me cos i have no vested interest except maybe to get one and try.. :P

thanks for your input.

regarding the reliability, i think it is made of aluminium. kind of light though.

Made in Taiwan. :D

Nobody flame no one. Everyone here sharing info i believe :D. Cyclonist posted here before sounded quite sarcastic to me but who cares. I don't have to flame him back. As long as i get facts right. No one knows everything perfectly including me, so i hope everyone here post and share info. Cheers!

come with gauge??? what gauge??
need major modification or not? need to cut the original radiator hose??
can be done DIY???

sorry not gauge, adapter actually. my mistake.

this thing to be install in between your radiator and expansion tank. need to cut expansion tank hose, the small one next to radiator cap. can be done DIY, installation manual provided.

hi..
what is the adpter sizes? is it need to cut the radiator hose to fix the adapter?
im so sorry to request that, u don't mind send me the manual, maybe the drawing, so that i can consider install it or not...
the reason was im from jb.. so far.. and i scare to make "big" modification on my new car...
if the installation ok.. i will ask my fren in kl to meet u...
thanks..

this Bubble Removal Tank sits between the radiator and expansion tank. you have to cut the expansion tank hose, which usually size about 12 - 14mm. no, worry, none of your radiator hose need to be cut.

sorry, i am not allow to post the diagram to anyone.
thanks...
then, where to fix the adaptor that show in the picture?
please advise... [/b][/quote]

sorry, the adapter sits between your radiator and your thermostat. which mean you have to cut your radiator hose, the lower one. sorry for the wrong info earlier.

ermm...according to a jap mag i have (translated by my jap friend) it's use mostly for the D1 gp for drifters. it's purpose is because the regulation is so strict that there CAN NOT be ANY spills of oil or water.. therefore, the item (i have a pic in the jap mag) is actually a WATER catch tank. it's to be placed inbetween the SPARE tank and the raidiator so that when the water temp is really high..boiling water will fill the catch tank and afterfthat the spare water tank and won't leak out the spare water tank.. correct me if i'm wrong...but that's what the mag says..

anyway, where are you located? i'm interested :D

this is one of the benefits. additional tank = additional volume and space for water storage.

im in subang jaya. please let me know when you confirm to place order as i need to take stock

well sorta ... but not really. Below is a excerpt from a GTI-R website :

"Surge Tanks (Also known as expansion tanks, fill cans, header tanks ... bubble removal tank? hehehe).

Using a surge tank as part of a racecar cooling system is a very good decision. Any proper racecar cooling system will incorporate a surge tank. If used properly it is the very best way of filling your system, trapping air, and taking the cap out of the vulnerable areas where pressure surges can lift the cap off of the seat momentarily.

On the return side of your cooling system, pressure can surge as high as 45-50 psi. This is due to abrupt changes in water pump speed (RPM related) and characteristics of the heat cycle and circulation in your system. When the radiator cap is on the return side or anywhere on the radiator, it is susceptible to this condition. A surge tank isolates the cap from these areas.

The other advantage to a surge tank is, when mounted properly (high as possible and highest point in cooling system,) it serves as an air trap and means for expansion. By running a -10 AN line to the water pump and a -6 line from the highest point of the radiator to the top of the surge tank, this will draw air to the tank and trap it. By keeping a given air space in the tank, it allows for temperature expansion.
"

Hope that helps the potential buyer(s) and seller. Gnite.

Hi guys.

Would like to know what are some of the ways you can mod a brand new car without affecting its warranty? Meaning what kind of things can you tune without voiding it... I'm pretty sure ECU chips are out of the question right?

Thanks!
