cmng,

some guys are sayin that the 16ve difficult to maintain and stuff. parts hard to get...confusing man...think i will just stay with the current engine first and do some homework...some say sr20ve is a better option...some say sr16ve is too expensive to buy and its only a 1.6...

thanks

SR20VE and SR16VE share the same part
so no matter you go to SR16, SR20VE
it still the same issue

people recommend 2.0 due to bigger cc
and cheaper halfcut cost

but for 2.0VE conversion
you need to find your own gearbox if you want to convert manual
Wiring issue, Dashboard issue, Speedo cluster issue
Settle JPJ side which is 1.xk price
End up.. more $$ spend on unnessary thing

1.6 just bolt on only
Dashboard even fit B14 prefectly

It bound to what you want.
Better power than GA16DE ?
Better power than SR16VE ?

The decision is yours

Si Fu, are you sure the JN15 dashboard fits the B14 perfectly? When I fitted my JN15 dashboard onto my B14, some mods were needed to be done to the dash mounting points before it can fit in... I mean size wise it's the same but my mech told me the mounting points are different...

Oh yeah, do you have any idea where I can find the electrical cables for the ABS sensors for the rear wheels? The cable that connects the ABS sensor to the ABS controller module. I wonder if it's a good idea to do that... Right now, I did not fit the ABS into my car...

use the high quality Mic wires, with shield. Thats what i do for my ex-16ve.

by now, expect to spend about 10k for any transplant. than spare 2 to 3k for others parts.

16ve are so expensive now, last time its only 4k, and no one want it.

OK, you're the expert here, I'll take ur word for it... But does the 3-door and 4-door JN15 share same exact components (except for the rear part la, of coz), my halfcut came from a 3-door JN15...

What I meant about the ABS is the cable that links the rear wheel ABS sensor to the ABS controller...

High quality shielded mike cables? Serious ah? Is it difficult to retrofit these mike cables to the ABS sensors?

Si Fu cmng, I got another noob question...

Is heavy mod required to fit JN15 grille, bumper, side fenders and headlamps on the B14? Or is it just a light mod?

Just light mod to fit
you need entire head to fit it
bonet, bumper, fender, headlight, grill and signal light

another way is just to fit the N15 bumper on it only

difficulties depend how much balance cable are attached to the sensor, its just cut and join, and make sure you use good tapes. you need water proof tapes. and best tapes are 3M tapes, number 23, and number 33 tapes.

how reliable...hmmm i been using the abs in my B13 for many many years until Mr xxxx brought my car, send to a non TLC mechanic and kill the cable. My B13 ABS Sensor only have less than 1" for me to connect.

Now the last B13 with 4 wheels ABS in Malaysia are history :(

Oh, you're talking about the cut and join method, I was thinking more of a complete replacement of the original cables... Well, if cut and join works, then I'll consider it...

And what do you mean by ur B13 ABS Sensor only have less than 1" to connect?

Well, I understand what you mean but for me, I prefer to have some sort of electronic aid when if I am caught in an emergency situation when my wheels completely locks up... But that's just me...

you can't replace the entire wires, cause the sensor till the connector come in one set. its an AC signal, so no +ve or -ve.

the wires leftover from sensor only 1" length.

Oh, I see I see. I get what u mean now... The leftover wires from the rear ABS sensors of my car is about 2 feet...

take out the ABS..
install the 4pot nissan..

gau tim..

cheers!!!!
Dude, if install R32 4-pot, I need to install the R32 master cylinder also, right? From what I have been told, if dun change master cylinder, the brakes won't work as well as expected... Oh yeah, if change to R32 4-pots, my wheel size need to be minimum 17", right? Or 16" also can?

it not neccesary to have change rim to fit 4 pot
Nissan 4 pot require 16" with some offset which PCD 100 x 4 is very rare

another method is fit after market 4 pot like wilwood
which is slightly expensive but long term worth it

can use back 15" no need crazy offset rim
cheaper tyre,
brake pad cheaper.. RM250 for a performance brake pad
long term worth it if you use your brake a lot like tracking or hard street driving

I'm currently using 16" rims with 205/50/16 tyres... If that offset is rare, then I rather not go thru the trouble...

I wish I could afford aftermarket 4-pots... I guess I'll just settle for A32 brakes...

Hey guys.

Basically i'm in dilemma of what car should i buy since there's heaps of new models coming right up.

But 1 brand particular stand up in some of my timeline and they're Kia Rio.

I never drive any Korean car before hence i appreciate all of your honest opinion on the matter.
