Planning to buy a new car. Which one is more value for money? Inspira 2.0 or Peugeot 408 2.0? Inspira price around RM 76 k after discount. P 408 price around RM 100 k after discount with 5 years free maintenance. Inspira size is smaller than P408. Inspira more 4 hp but P408 more torque.

Any type of input is welcome. TQ.<input id="mac_address" value="undefined" type="hidden"><input id="triggerLogout" type="hidden"><input id="signupTrigger" type="hidden">

I like the 408...even before free maintenance offer......

it got 1.6 turbo, which is more powerful than the mivec 2.0 in inspira...
very big boot, bigger than inspira...comfy seat...elegant but dull interior..

inspira better equipped...much-much better equipped..

but then youre comparing the non turbo version vs executive version..
apart from the turbo and big space, 408 just doesnt tickle me..without turbo it lost half of it..

however its just too hard to ignore the price deficit of the 408 and the value after that...
resale value is very important here cause i heard peugeot are not so realiable...
malaysian think proton are worse, but then it got plenty of spare parts and it can keep on going...
(to my suprise proton cars can hold its value quite well)
and proton can be service/repair anywhere...
can u find nasim blue box in your area? in your 'kampung'?

truly speaking, if you compare these cars base on price, spec, and extras alone, Inspira wins, hands down...
unless you have other criteria to fulfill...impress your client maybe...

Tq for your input. However I am comparing inspira 2.0 vs P 408 2.0 non turbo. P 408 1.6 turbo is RM 20 k more expensive. I also feel inspira is more reliable than P 408.

Actually I am more incline towards inspira. However before I make the final decision it is best to hear input from other fellow forummers.

P 408 uses 6 speed tranny. How about inspira? What is the advantage of 6 speed tranny compare to 5 or 4 speed?

Peugeot is kinda famous for its not up to par maintenance wor...although it gives 5 years warranty, you wouldn't wana visit the SC often, would you? I have no say on Peugeot 408 as I have never been in one before, but inspira is a good value for money.

if u concern about price, then go for inspira. but if ur have extra cash, go for other than proton. simple..
Yes, I am concern about the price. I like camry, accord and teana but I think they are overpriced.

I already own a 2007 altis 1.8 and sold it 4 years ago. Second hand ford focus 2009 also is not bad at RM 50 K.

cool story, why don't you tell him about the Depollution Error on the Prince engine for the 1.6 Turbo?
You buy a Peugeot, it will spend half the time in Naza workshop.

Currently, the depollution error CANNOT be solved. I've seen people change head on a <1 year old car, cars that "repaired" then the error light come back on again. Basically once you kena, the car is lemon already, go see Peugeot 308 2nd hand value, drop like rock.

Proton Inspira, the car is good for the price, but the Proton SC is a joke. But at least it doesn't have permanent un-fixable problems. Spare parts are plenty.

If you are comparing these 2 cars, hands down the Proton Inspira. Why? Because doesn't matter if you bought a REAL Mitsubishi Lancer or a Proton Inspira, when you go EON for service, you will see REAL Mitsubishi Lancer next to your FAKE Mitsubishi Lancer. Proton Inspira is just the CKD version of Mitsubishi, no big deal. Either one you still have to send it for service by monkeys with wrenches.

Go for Inspira. I agree with most of the reason stated by other members on above.
Besides, there are plenty of aftermarket bodykits and parts for Inspira if you want to mod it next time.
