The 308 GTi is set to go head-to-head with cars like the Ford Focus ST and Volkswagen’s Golf GTi. Making its global debut at Goodwood later at the end of this month, the car will take part in the ‘First Glance’ section at the end of Goodwood’s Supercar Run throughout the weekend.

For now, Peugeot has yet to share any technical details about the car but it has been rumoured that the 308 GTi will be powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine similar to the one powering the RCZ R, pushing out 266bhp. It will join Peugeot’s hot hatch line up alongside the 208 GTi.

Set to hit the showrooms later this year, the GTi is tipped to have a similar relationship to the 202bhp 308 GTi and will be equipped with a number of the GT’s gadgets such as LED lights, sports seats, and sportier setup for its MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension setup.

The 308 GTi is set to make an appearance alongside the 308 R Hybrid concept car which comes with a four-wheel drive setup and 493bhp.
