Ford takes the world by surprise with the all-new Ford GT!

When Acura revealed the production-spec NSX, we initially thought that this was the highlight of the 2015 North American International Motor Show. Apparently it did not take long to prove us wrong as under great secrecy, Ford managed to gather all their top guns and made a rebirth of one of their greatest icons; the Ford GT.

You have heard that right. Taking the stage under Ford’s flag was a mid-engined coupe that will enter production in 2016, and we were equally surprised that they had actually made such a machine. We have actually heard of news and stories of the rebirth of this icon, but unfortunately they were only tiny little details and no pictures to back the claim up.

The emergence of this new Ford GT immediately puts those claims into reality. In what looks like a modernized version of the iconic supercar, Ford describes the new GT as “an ultra-high-performance supercar” that serves as a technology showcase for top EcoBoost performance, aerodynamics and carbon fiber construction.

Powering the supercar will be the most powerful EcoBoost production engine ever, a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine which is said to be pushing out more than 600-horsepower. The power plant will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle transmission. The chassis on the other hand will be suspended by an active racing-style torsion bar and pushrod suspension, and ceramic brake discs on all four tires will provide stopping power.

We will provide more information once they are released, but these are the only ones we could obtain for the time being. So, a quick question; this, or the new NSX?
