Yup, that's the problem; ALL super chargers are absurdly priced.

Yeah, I think so too coz I saw another thread by Syed looking for ST171 gang but I think he'll be quite disappointed coz there're not that many ST171 kakis around.

You mean replace the turbo with a SC ? Why not, I think it'll be just the reverse of those turbo charging their 4A-GZEs. They both originally being force induced engines, I don't see any problems with that.

The only obstacle I foresee is that if you plan to use a roots (compressor type) SC, space would be an issue. That is why I turn to these centrifugal SCs coz it would definitely take up less space. It should be much lighter than the roots type too, I think.

I'm only wondering how it'll perform as compared to the roots type coz I think these centrifugal SCs have no clutch; unlike the roots type. Meaning it'll be engaged as long as the engine is running ??

Anyone knows how these centrifugal super charger functions ?

I bought already ST171..... with Auto 3s-fe engine.

So far I not planning to upgrade the engine....

but i looking for cheap engine sparepart if somebody converted their engine to 3sGTE.

So far fuel comp. 30-35km / RM10.

Is it bad?

I like the ST171 Corona very much but it was more than I could afford those days, so I took the older model.

I think your fuel consumption's reasonable.
