IMHO, one thing that the 2jz lacks is a perceived racing heritage.... maybe blackie can enlighten us further... of course Toyota races in F1 etc, but it's not Supras specifically - and rarely the 2jz engine.

The gtr has loads, of course the R32 was legendary, R33 raced in Le Mans, R35 currently campaigning in Japan, One Lap of America, and needless to mention, conquering the green hell Nurburgring.

Bring your 32,33 or 34 out to meet me...but if u're talking anything less than 1km.. then u go meet my friend leonard.. bwahahahaha

Bunyi marah ja ni!:hmmmm: . My GTT always roam around lah but not in KL!! Hahaha...

Bump:

i totally agree on this point... but to improve it, u need at least the front tyre size of 255/35/18 or 255/40 and above... else u'll feel the float..

Ar interesting point. Do you need special offset for the 255 front? Wouldn't it rub against the mudguard? And can I still use 265 for rears or need something wider to maintain balance?

2jz n rb26 are both legendary eng to come out of japan. undeniable the 2jz has more grunt as it has more displacement compared to rb26 and engineered for higher output in stock trim. if u compared the mines gtr n the white super in the infamous video, u can see what the rb eng is all about. RESPONSE.. that is why it dominates the races.. it depends what u are after in choosing the eng.. all out torque or eng response. its also unfair to compare to modified eng from tuners cuz tuning plays a big role in the outcome of the eng.. in ausi, u can see an unmatchable 2jz kicking 1600bhp in 3.0 settings. something rb26 can only dream about but if u see the torque curve in these super high out put eng, the rb26 has a broader torque curve even though it doesnt match the peak output of the 2jz thus making it a more responsive eng. manufacturers make these eng to be modded, thats why there are so many aftermarket performance parts for these eng. if u wanna up the power, u gotta change parts like the oil pump.

well said doc ... are u sure u are a doc not a jet-engine engineer?

Even those Jap admit that RB26 still far most the best if compared to the R35 engine! This is what happen when the top guy is not 100% Jap and wanted to change thing out their way...

In NZ, there's an Rb engine that can match that. Produces 1200+ hp and the car runs 7.8s in 1/4 mile. But the car is a 240z.

And the engine is rb30 :burnout:

Actually Rob from RIPS just recently examined the 2JZ engine in detail vs the Rb30 (NOT the RB26).

He said there's no reason the 2JZ should be stronger than the RB30, in fact he noticed one major drawback of the 2JZ and some stronger components in the stock RB30 like the cradles or girdles or something. I think if you're interested, you have to ask him directly (like Dr.D, I'm not a mechanic, more of a people's mechanic LOL).

He's quite a friendly guy...he's always on gtr.co.uk.

36GG > 2j/rb anytime :thefinger::thefinger::thefinger::rofl::rofl::rofl:

soli OT... keep up the discussion, learned a lot of things here :adore::adore::adore:

yez...plz post more......comparison on the both.....would luv to learn more

Let's hear and learn which are the best!

from my experience, kancil 660cc feels like its got more torque compared to the 13B off-boost hehehe

HAHA.

Could not agree more, wait till you drive one which is heavily ported. Off boost feels like a 150cc 2 stroke motorbike,

Revs like a bitch though and when power does come in. BOY! it feels like a dog pissing razorblades. Mighty!!

13b worst engine? i love that engine weh.... if i can afford it i dont mind building another power plant:adore:

i didnt say that :p i only said that the off-boost torque is worse than kancil 660cc. i dont deny that on boost, its AWESOME!!!

i think i'm quite spoiled already cos i'm using quite a torquey engine hehehe
