RE engine oil

RE rev heads! 3000km ago, I changed my engine oil to Castrol GTX 15W40. When I drained it out last week after the track day. The oil poured out like water with some foul smell.. Car still runs perfectly and cranks up without prob. Monitored the vacuum reading and everything seems stable to me.. Is it normal to have burnt smell on used engine oil in RE?? 15W40 seems a bit too light for me... Oil has degraded so badly.. So what r the recommendation for the RE's?? Lets not start the debate of using synthetic or mineral here.. as I am a true believer of mineral in RE :D which means highest i can go is up to 50??? shit..

Btw... when replacing the oil for FC3S. What is the proper method of draining the remaining 1 liter of oil in the oil cooler. Can't seem to find any drain plug, do I just remove the oil inlet hose connector and drain from there? Cheers.

did you wait till the oil cool down ?

if the oil is hot the vicosity will be like water ,

Overheated oil will have burn smell ,

a good brand Mineral oil will do best ,
try to use those imported oil , such as sunoco or 76 ,
