Merc's Geländewagens (cross country vehicles) are a rare sight in Malaysia. Designed rough and tough, the G-class started life as a light military vehicle, until civilian-spec was offered in 1979. There are three generation of G-Wagens, and the one in the pictures above is the most recent 463-model G55 AMG.

The 5.5-liter supercharged V8 churns out 500hp, and a frankly silly 700Nm of torque. It only takes 4.8secs to dispatch the 0-100km/h sprint; and having seen it accelerate away with my own eyes, I couldn't help but giggle. Just look at it! It doesn't make any sense how a behemoth like this can move so fast!

There is one that always parked infront on semua house ( opposite capital square). KCx 9 plate...look like itikadraya owner toy...

Awesome power for this monster.. but that freaking fast for cross country vehicle spinning my head somehow..

More impressively is that this G55 isn't the most powerful G-wagen available. There is actually a more bonkers GV12S Bi-turbo Brabus tune; the original 5.5 engine is bored to 6.3-litres and the result is 700hp and an insane 1320Nm of torque!

Power, I can understand. Power in a behemoth like that..? I don't quite get it...

power in a behemoth like that is normal. there are other SUVs that are bigger than the G55 but still a behemoth (eventhough it is not producing as much as 500bhp).

the one in the photo is a 2008 model though.

this stuff still can't beat the king of offroad... Range Rover...:evil:
