Personal tutoring? Fuiyoo, since when I become so good? I'm still learning man, and I'm not very fast nia. The most important thing in driving is staying as smooth as possible (Insert "Sade - Smooth Operator" here). Everything else is secondary to being smooth. Transmission (gear-play), steering work, hand-eye coordination, throttle response and sensitivity, chassis feel; they must all be smooth before attempting any, if not all, of the intermediate to advanced level driving techniques.

I am still trying to figure out what the heck those R3 drivers told me during the Track Experience; acknowledging that I am lousier than I think I am. Until the next Track Day...

Engine wise, shouldn't be a problem you'll need to get the cams, pulleys and complete exhaust.

Chassis, only the suspension system but I think double welding your gti not easy to do.

The PZ LSD isn't a full-fledged LSD, so no "klunk klunk" sound when you powering out of corners. It helps, a little. Due to improvements over the original Phantom Grip, the PZ LSD acts like a 1.5 way LSD, instead of a full-lock.

For the little amount you pay, well, I guess it is value for money to a certain extent.

I was untouchable at SIC? HAhaha..that one was pure skill man...hahaha...not the LSD! Just joking. Jakuzeeman was fast even without Stage 2 anything, and LSD man. So go figure.

Bro Crash,

Had you really tried one Gti that had been fitted with PZ lsd? How do you know that mivec lsd is better than PZ lsd? Do we need a full lock 2.0 lsd in Sepang or is it better to go for 1.5 lock? Do we need the klunk klunk sound in order to go fast at Sepang, especially at corners that use 2nd gear?

I've tried mivec lsd gearbox fitted on several cars (turbo and na). It works, really. Then I tried a PZ lsd fitted gti. And it works just the same. To say PZ lsd works "a little" compare to mivec lsd is an understament. I do not know whether you have tried the PZ lsd, but if you had not maybe you should consider not to comment on it.

One more thing, you crashed at Sepang that day coz your rear suddenly slip out. One advice : Concentrate on your driving, be SUPER smooth with the thottle since SR3 has tendency to kick out the rear tail. I never like that kind of setting though it can be overcome using the correct driving technique.

Cheers.

hey bro,

I drive a PZ-LSD kitted SR3 and I have driven a 140whp SGTi with the PZ-LSD as well. And I have driven a Putra powered by a Kaaz 1.5way LSD. There is a distinct difference. Due to the design, the PZ one acts like a 1.5-way, and the MIVEC LSD gearbox is of course a true 1.5-way, with klunk klunk sound and all.

Long before I fitted the LSD, I paid a visit to Powerzone to speak to Sirazul, who explained the workings of the Phantom Grip-based kit. I always respected Powerzone because of their honesty, and I put forward a question to Sirazul about the kit.

How does the PZ LSD compare to a real LSD? His answer: You can't. It is a cheap effective mod, helpful for autocrossing and streetdriving. For pure performance, go for the MIVEC gearbox. Nuff said.

Stanley and I do autocrossing and find that the PZ LSD is too subtle to our liking. A gearbox upgrade is definitely on hand.

Hope this clears the air.

Thanks for the tip on driving in SIC :)

Yes. There are already some sleeper SGTis running R3 mods. Don't simply 'cucuk' :). You can look up information on http://r3gister.blogspot.com and also download and have a look at the http://www.macxcess.com/vblog/files/R3-prices.xls

Contact Amin (016 229 8717) for purchasing details.

If the driver were to lift off mid-corner abrubtly or brake the tail will definately step out.

Better handling FF car have sharper turn in and good front end grip matched to an adjustable rear end (via throttle control ). This is a trait found in any car that has a neutral handling. Aka Peugeot 205, Renault Clio 16, Honda Integra Type R (DC5).

It's called adjustability.

I remember distinctively having two SGTis at my tail, braked a little later than usual, which unsettled the rear on entry. Throttled and countered (but perhaps a little too much), then slid off sideways.

Actually I'd rather it be oversteery. Makes for a more fun car :) And helps a lot during autocross too.

Have since improved technique at Sepang. And yes, smoothness is key.

Glad to hear that you are alive and kickin' mate. You MUST join us for the next track day.

TT was held last week, so no TT this week. Every 2 weeks mah. Cannot do everyweek. Pokai. And all the roti johns are not good for the mid section. No point having R3 remove 135kgs of weight and me adding 90kgs in! :(
