sent in my 2 week old #145 for that radiator problem, seems that the whole radiator needs to be replaced, and guess how long its going take? 3 days....at least...
they dont have the radiator in stock and need to order it from the factory in shah alam...i dint know it was 3 days away...
but what the hell the guy at the desk was nice enough to break it down...

the last i remembered was 866kms on the meter...im giving them 5ks, anything more and somebody gonna get a hurt reeal bad..

hey bro,

I drive a PZ-LSD kitted SR3 and I have driven a 140whp SGTi with the PZ-LSD as well. And I have driven a Putra powered by a Kaaz 1.5way LSD. There is a distinct difference. Due to the design, the PZ one acts like a 1.5-way, and the MIVEC LSD gearbox is of course a true 1.5-way, with klunk klunk sound and all.

Long before I fitted the LSD, I paid a visit to Powerzone to speak to Sirazul, who explained the workings of the Phantom Grip-based kit. I always respected Powerzone because of their honesty, and I put forward a question to Sirazul about the kit.

How does the PZ LSD compare to a real LSD? His answer: You can't. It is a cheap effective mod, helpful for autocrossing and streetdriving. For pure performance, go for the MIVEC gearbox. Nuff said.

Stanley and I do autocrossing and find that the PZ LSD is too subtle to our liking. A gearbox upgrade is definitely on hand.

Hope this clears the air.

Thanks for the tip on driving in SIC :)
Yo Crash... Mind giving me a feel what this LSD thing really does? I really really have no idea what so ever!

Regardless of what your opinions are of Proton's service.. academic qualifications of their staff should not be of relevance.. that was so below the belt man..

and for what its worth.. i dont need some guy with a freaking doctorate to change my damn radiator..

I remember distinctively having two SGTis at my tail, braked a little later than usual, which unsettled the rear on entry. Throttled and countered (but perhaps a little too much), then slid off sideways.

Actually I'd rather it be oversteery. Makes for a more fun car :) And helps a lot during autocross too.

Have since improved technique at Sepang. And yes, smoothness is key.
Getting a FF car to be neutral to understeery is sure lotsa fun. Makes' them more adjustable too.

The HMRT Civic was so oversteery only the Jap Hero Hiroki Kato could do a qiuck time (2"24) in it. Eddie Liew ( MSS Champion) and Farriz Fauzy could only get within 6 secs of his time.

Only idiots who don't know how to drive love understeer. But hey, can please everybody rite?? hahaha

Hey bro,

To understand how the LSD kit works, perhaps you can start with understanding how your car differential works.

Try here - http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm

And here - http://phantomgrip.com/how_it_works.htm, to learn about how the device locks your open differential for traction.

Hope this helps mate!

crash, would need ur opinion, i'm now running on mivec gearbox, without LSD, do you think i put powerzone lsd on it or change the whole gearbox to mivec lsd gearbox better? :D

That solely depends on what you really want out of your car. If you want pure performance, then go for the MIVEC gearbox, even if you have the non-LSD version. The PZ one would of course be the budget version, effective but not up to a real LSD level.

Another option would be to source an aftermarket LSD like Kaaz to couple with your gearbox. Pricey, but nice :) Hope this helps!

The biggest problem, IMO is that job security is too high. If their boss just so much as fired anyone who leaves for break while a car is unfinished, I'm sure they'd strive to work harder.

so for a fully loaded stage 2 engine you need to get 2 new camshafts(stage 2) and 1 new adjustable cam pulley... plus tuning... did i get that right? sorry man..

Actually, for SR3s with EMS the additional adjustable cam pulley for the inlet cam is not required because the ECU is unable to compensate for any cam timming changes on the inlet side.

For MMC equiped Satrias/Wiras/Putras, R3 Adjustable Cam Pulleys are recommended for both inlet and exhaust cams. This is because the MMC ECU is more responsive to changes in cam timming on both cams and thus we can optimise both inlet and exhaust cam timmings to get more power.

FYI
R3 Stage 2 Cams are RM 1600 for a set with trade-in
Installation will take 3 hours which costs RM70/hr. Total RM210.00
Total for cams+installation RM1810.00

Once installed, R3 will do your first dyno run and cam timming optimisation for free. Usually R3 Dyno Runs will set you back RM200.00/session including cam timming optimisation. Dyno runs are done at PROTON R&D and HP readings are taken in fourth gear NOT in third like other shops. This will give a more accurate, real life power reading from your engine. Readings taken in third gear will definitely yield more power but its not accurate.

Finally we would recommend that you leave the car for a day so that we can get the minor bugs sorted out before you get to rip your SR3 all the way to 7000rpm :)

And another thing
With R3 Stage 2 Cams installed generally SR3s will get close to 170bhp @ the engine which equates to about 140bhp @ the wheels (~3-5bhp). Low end there's not much change...but after 3500rpm-4000rpm you'll feel significant pull all the way up to 7000rpm. We don't have official 0-100km/h figures but up top expect to see 215km/h-220km/h easy!

Oh...and
Our Stage 2 cams are available for 4G93P engines in Wira, Putra and Satria GTi

Hope this clears the confusion somewhat :)

hey...
im thinking about buying the SR3...
i look at the specs..
its pretty good with the price...
can someone give me pros n cons on this car?
i dont want to read all 140+ pages...

Hello...
If you're looking to own a brand new SR3, I'm sorry...all available units are sold out. One owner is looking at letting go his pre-owned SR3 because he's looking at buying a bigger car to fit all his fishing gear. It barely touched 5000km on the odo and is one of the smoothest SR3 I've ever driven. Expect to pay a premium. We also have ex-display units for sale...you're welcomed to PM me if you're really interested. :)

Once purchased, R3 can check and service your SR3 to make sure that it feels almost brand new.

FYI
The MIVEC gearbox is a close ratio one...so your top speed will be reduced somewhat.

PROTON Edar does not order parts directly from PROTON factory. PROTON Parts are distributed by PROTON's subsidiary PROTON Parts Centre. It usually does not take three days to deliver a radiator because it is a ready available part.

It might take three days because they might want to make sure that everything is ok and the problem does not pop up again the moment you leave the Service Centre's parking lot :)
