As far as i'm concern, Skype uses either port 80, 443, or other higher port numbers to communicated.

Hence, i've create protocol definitions at the proxy to allow inbound traffic fr port 80, 443 and 1024 onwards for Skype.

however i could still not login to skype....

any advice?

by the way, no issues on the firewall as it already granted full outbound access for the proxy server. So i believe the settings are done on the proxy end instead.

Oh yea.. proxy is Microsoft ISA

pls help dudesss... thanks alot.

err can post how u solve it ah? it could help others too :) thanks..

Basically at the Microsoft ISA, i have created a Skype Protocol Rule with 3 new protocol definations :

1.) "Skype UDP Send/Receive"

a.) Portnumber : 65530
Protocol type : UDP
Direction : Send Receive

b.) Secondary connections:
Port Range : 1024 - 65530
Protocol type : UDP
Direction : Send Receive

2.) "Skype TCP Inbound"

a.) Portnumber : 2000
Protocol type : TCP
Direction : Inbound

3.) "Skype TCP Outbound"

a.) Portnumber: 3000
Protocol type : TCP
Direction : Outbound

b.) Secondary connections:
Port Range : 1024 - 65530
Protocol type : TCP
Direction : Outbound

Along with that, I added the default HTTP and HTTPS protocol defination into the Skype Protocol Rule. I had also created a new Site and Content Rule to allow access to www.skype.com
