Have you guys done full makeovers for a Kelisa? What are the works, the gains and the costs?

Thanks.

Actually, we have not!
So far we've got the cams and extractor, but we'd like to do a full rebuild if there's anyone who wants it.
We don't do bodyworks so we'll focus on the engine.

The mods are:
1. Pair of hot cams
2. Extractor kit
3. Exhaust piping and silencers
4. Ported head
5. Engine blue-print and balancing
6. Fuel pressure regulator.

We don't have the exact cost involved, but a ball park figure hovers at RM5,500.

Yeah, we know. NA tuning costs a bomb (sometimes bombs are much cheaper!).

And would be beneficial to put in a fully programable stand alone ECU, costs around RM5K!!! Perhaps not. NA tuning is not like engine transplant, unless all the parts are second hand. Afterall, half cuts are totally used, right?

Yeah, I'm not really comfortable with swapping engines anyway. The trouble is just not worth it.

How advantageous is it to have the stand alone ECU versus without (just the mods). Would it be a marked improvement? Cons of going without it?

I'm asking because another 5k to fork out for the ECU is a bit tough.

Any alternatives?

BTW, I did notice that the Wira stated above is still using its original ECU.

We don't have any improvement figures yet with a stand alone ECU, but this is just a recommendation after all the mods been done. So, can't say if it's worth the 5K.

This is a more complicated process as it involves:

1. Modifying the in tank fuel pump to disable the built-in FPR.
2. Installing a fuel return line.
3. And fitting a new adjustable FPR.

Costly too. Extimated at RM500.

However, this mod is NOT absolutely necessary.

We don't do crank lightening as this is NOT an accepted blue-printing procedure. Why?

The crank counter-weights are calculated by the design engineers (with sophisticated computer analysis) to produce an opposite and equal dynamic force to counter the centrifugal throw-out force of the pistons and con-rods so that the rotational components are fully balanced, both axially and radially.

Cutting off the counter weights will make the whole rotating components to be off balance and can cause premature bearing wear!

The balancing of the crankshaft including the front pulley, con-rods, and pistons altogether costs RM600 (parts taken out from engine).

Random Post Every 5 Minutes

Good day ZTH! Well i would like to ask to clarify my doubts as my topic above.
1. Want to purchase a 1.0 myvi (cheaper than a 1.3) to upgrade the engine to YRV turbo for daily use
2. Is it going to be hard to approve the car legally? (assuming we don't use runners)
3. If we use runners what cost are we looking at?

Well is there anyone who is using a YRV engine, or has done a 1.0 to 1.3 engine swap here that can shed some light, I would highly appreciate your kind replies. I just want...
