Hi all.,
I have a perdana with v6 mivec. Recently my car cannot start sometimes can start sometimes cannot start. My battery is 12.4v any idea to solve the problem?
need help.....

maybe battery or starter problem...face it b4 myself on my last seg..sometime can sometime cant...till no sound when turn key to start...replace starter self problem gone...save a lot if know repair/check if not go to ur trust mechanic for repair

check wiring with proper wireman...

sometimes wire in old car starts to have poor connection...so need to replace or sometimes add starter relay..

14v is in operation danz, the amount the battery can store is 12v only, usually 11v is strong enough to crank any engine up, the Ah rating shows how long the battery can crank it, sumthing like dat..

9/10 times this sort of problem is battery related. If your batteries are dying too fast then your alternator needs checking. Starter usually is the last culprit

Surface voltage only goes so far as to tell if the battery is fully charged and does not have a bad cell. You can have 12.7 volts DC coming from the battery, but it still won't start your car because there is no cranking amperage. Cold cranking amps is the standard cranking amps the battery would put out at 32 degrees F. If the battery is rated at 700 CCA and can only actually put out 50 CCA, it will light up a test light and read good on a voltage meter, but never start your car.
Get your qualified mechanic to diagnose for you i think most do not charge for testing battery.

if starter is the culprit, it could be serviced by changing the brush inside just like wat i did. bout rm50-60....halfcut ones costs rm150.

i have encounter b4 ignition switch :)

and also there are issues with car alarm ... sometimes it toys with the starting circuit ...

12.4V is good enough to start engine.check your charging voltage as well. if the starter sound weak just change the carbon brush from perdana rm50 only, can last you another 5years.

If suddenly your starter decide to fail, just put a tap behind the starter,if can start quickly go to electrician car shop.

I hope your problem wont same as mine my car cant due to stock ECU getting a wrong signal for water temp cause the engine cant start. But if really come to no idea you need to check your ECU see anything with it or not.

first go to a tyre shop, get a computer diagnostic, then check voltage levels and then the fuse.

my old ee90> when i turn the key, there's spark at the battery terminal... then all indicator turn off... few moment later ok...is it wiring or what?
