Most of CRV owners are family first la..

let me join u.....riding RD5 2003. stock K20 engine...for mods, only change rims to light weight 17" from stock 15". Different FC between stock rim and light weight rim. FC for 15" stock rim around 9km/litre (city and hway), FC for 17" light weight rims, 10~11km/litre....measured early this year. Currently thinking of improving engine performances....:driver:

Hi guys, I'm not a CRV owner but hope to get one. My target is a CRV around the year 97 to 99. What do you guys think of this model? (Im limited by budget also =( )

I'm not a family man, but I like the spaciousness of SUV and the fact that I can fold the backseats and carry stuff around. Guess I am more utilitarian. Would appreciate the feedback guys =)

Hello,
hope this thread still moves...
I just bought a 2nd Gen CRV..
reason... always wanted an SUV, always loved the 2nd Gen CRV.
just wondering..the current tyre is 215/65/16.
If I want to change to a new 17" rim (love the new civic rims; some says its lighter too?)
any recommendation on tyre size?
thanks

I'll suggest for an upgrade, better to get a light weight 17" rim and perhaps a 215/55/17 as wider tyres tend to cause your ride to go sluggish albeit more stable in high speed. However crv is known to ride on slightly sluggish engine even on stock( referring to the older 2000cc model).

By coincidence I just replaced my steering pump with a reconditioned unit few months ago. Problem started with minor leaks of ps fluid and the steering will go heavier due to lost of pressure. According to my mec, the seal inside is broken, not worth to open up and replace it as the cost will be higher than a reconditioned unit itself.

Welcomed. Mine is a much older model but yet to encounter what u mentioned. Perhaps just bring it over to the mech? If the noise is not irritating nor obvious or causing any trouble, suggest u leave it so(believe the mech will say the same).

I have brought to Honda sc...claimed its d starter n cost to 'fix' about 3k!!!...I'm just trying to get a 2nd (or 3rd or 4th hehehe) opinion on dis...so far it has x effect on d overall of d car just that it's worrisome coz when it happens it's quite loud...

Now that u mentioned yea it makes sense. I suppose the sound will more like metal clicking noise when u turn the ignition. Normal occurrence when the starter start giving way is some may experience harder to start the car during hot weather while some may be the total opposite. Suggest u bring it to 3rd party mechanic for a much cheaper quote, will expect less than half of what sc normally quote.

Random Post Every 5 Minutes

Guys n Gals,
Need some tech discussion here. I recently put the FICD on my VR4 and it has solved my engine mati problem. Now, the idling is very nice. But only after I run the car. What I meant is, if I want to off the engine to go down and buy something. When I come back, start the engine, the idling will be very low, and sometimes do mati engine.

But when I rev a bit, or continue to drive and on the air-cond, after 1-2 mins, it will be ok. What is going on?

Another issue is that...
