ever seen a e36 bimmer doing a RB25DE transplant?

is it do-able?

I've seen E36 with RB26DETT in local magazine, so RB25DE shouldn't be a problem, but the weight distribution will be no longer approx 50:50

The RB25 NA should be as cheap as the RB20DET infact I suspect its even more cheaper..so I would say arounnd RM1500-RM2100 for the half cut. However, having to go through making new engine mountings , wiring and pipings...why isn't the RB25DET ( turbo version) an option? I mean the amount of work that needs to be done is quiet similar, so why not?

There's a white E36 running on a 600bhp RB26DETT in Kelantan so I suppose a RB25 is possible as it shares the same mountings as the RB26s.

Do E36 have 50/50 weight distribution?

wife's car... looking for easy maintenance and reliability... turbo is tempting... but i think de should fit my wife's requirement ok....

can't afford to maintain the e36's engine (roughly rm250-400 per 1 1/2 month)... i heard from lotsa mechanics that bmw's engines are 'manja'...

is rb series engine easy to maintain... right now just thinking that japs engine parts might be cheaper than german parts....

anybody care to add???
