The eighth generation of the Honda Accord has been given a minor facelift by Honda Malaysia to refresh its appeal in the market whilst building on all the features that has made it a bestseller in the country and neighbouring regions as well.

The front fascia receives a new chrome grille and bumper while the rear benefits from a new rear chrome trunk lid and new 17-inch alloy wheels for the 2.4-liter model. The Accord now also comes with front corner sensors and a jack-knife key for a sharper image.

On the interior, the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels are reduced further with a thicker floor mat. The 2-liter VTi-L and VTi variants get a new leather steering wheel that is complemented with a leather-wrapped gear knob as well.
Safety wise, the 2.4-liter variant is bumped up the safety-stakes with additional equipment in the form of VSA and front seat side airbags with an occupant position detection system.

The best bit about the refreshed Accord is that Honda Malaysia will be retaining the prices for all the variants, meaning that customers get better value for their money.
Furthermore, a new shade has been added to the colour swatch, Celestial Blue Metallic, that will join the existing hues of Taffeta White, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Polished Metal Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl.

All these value-added features will surely spur the sales of the Accord. Thus far, the Accord is sold in more than 160 countries with cumulative sales of over 18 million units from 1976 to 2010. Last year, Honda Malaysia sold 7,322 units of the Accord in Malaysia, representing 16.5 per cent of their total sales. That made Malaysia the top Accord market in the Asean region and one of the largest in the Asia and Oceania regions, contributing 22 per cent to the region/s total sales.

In line with the Accord's facelift, Honda Malaysia will be embarking on a nationwide photography exhibition tour entitled 'The Journey of Ambition' to showcase the legacy of the Accord. The exhibition will stop at Queensbay Mall in Penang from 13-17 April, One Utama Shopping Center in Petaling Jaya from 20-24 April, Empire Gallery in Subang from 25-29 May and Tebrau City in Johor Bahru from 21-26 June.

The revised Accord is available at all Honda showrooms nationwide from today. For more information, call the Honda toll-free line at 1-800-88-2020 or log onto www.honda.com.my.
