I wish I can get a chance to go visit Japan one day. My new Japanese friends are quite surprised with my enthusiasm with Japan.

Wow, another lucky guy can go to Japan, some more free of charge.

Yes, I do agree that they are very polite. Those Japanese that I met kept saying thank you and sorry in almost every little situation when they see feel like they should thank someone or apologize for some very minor annoyances.

that time i know a bit about car....but see some car with rollcage too. :driver:
they prefer public transport. Always walk, walk, walk, cold mah.
Summer. Humidity is higher than malaysia. As told by the japs vendor.
You'll sweat till underwear.

The interest in cars for the younger generation in Japan is indeed declining. My Japanese friends told me that most of their friends see cars as a transport, not something to drive for fun. Some of them don't have a licence as they say public transport is good enough.

At here, car is still an important transport because public transport is not that efficient. In Japan especially in big cities, they really can do without a car. Car culture is still strong in Malaysia.

Another reason is, it is too expensive to own and maintain one in big cities. One of my ex Japanese colleague who was a division manager here mentioned even his house no place to park his car. He cycles to the car park, drives to train station and take the train to the city...

Yeah. In order to own a car, you need to prove to the local authorities that you have a valid parking space for your car. But Kei cars are exempted from this in some cases especially in outskirt areas. After that, for every 2 years, their vehicles need to undergo an inspection called Shaken where the vehicle's road worthiness is examined. I heard they are very strict about it until minor things like failing to comply within the percentage of window tinting can fail the test. Petrol price isn't cheap either. Around RM4.80 per litre now.

But cars are cheap, that is why after a year or so and especially if have accident, they change car and that accident car probably cut up and send to us here......lol

Cut up or send to overseas via used car auction and end up as recon cars.

Not exactly very cheap but still cheaper than what we have here. I checked new WRX STI only cost like 3.8 million yen, around RM150k.
