full Overhual for BT engine

juz wan to ask .....while doing full overhual .....can we doing Gran-valve as well ( without re-shim) .....
cuz i heard from others ....if not re-shim ....cant do gran-valve lo...later the timing running .....
izzit true ? ....
cuz .....i doing now ....hehe ....lower part is finish .....waiting for port & polish for the head .....
