Hi fellow bro's.
A couple of ppl i know,including my self have experience this issue...out of no where,suddenly you feel there is a noticeable lost of power,some others have other symptoms such as car jerks at certain RPM's....some ppl experienced when vtec kicks(example : 5k rpm),it feels as if there is a rev cut or like engine misfiring for 2-3 seconds then the engine continues to pull through 6,7,8k rpm like normal...but just with less power or not like before....all of this scenario's happened without having any recent mods to the engine,or upgrades or changes...it just happened suddenly.
I am just sharing what we went thought this traumatizing event....after many painful troubleshooting...and the thought that your car will never be the way it was...posting this in hopes that you guys don't face this painful process like we did.
Things we checked/changed :
1.Oil pressure
2.Vtec Solenoid
3.Valve Train
4.Fuel pump
5.Spark plugs
6.Cams
7.Spark Plug Cables
8.Map Sensor
All of the above did not resolve the issue.
Cant really remember what other checking was done...but all of us found the same resolution....it was the ECU....if you have a re-chipped ECU..changing the chip might not be enough...when you change only the chip...the cars performance is improved but it doesn't perform the way its use to...but when we changed a different ECU and re-chip that ECU..then the performance is returned to its prime time...
so ...just remember...when you guys face this issue...if possible just borrow a friends/mechs ECU...and test that 1st....to save you from all the hassle above...
