I am asking this because i wanna get a set of Wilwoods but someone posted that its only a 240mm disc. So i want to know whether Wilwood kits use smaller discs or are they for the rear. Its a Dynalite 4 pot with 240mm 2 piece rotor/aluminium hat. Also if i were to redrill the hat to fit my car will it weaken the structure?

Well.. I'm NOT familiar with wilwoods, but the some sets I saw came with brackets. And the accompanying discs are BIGGER than the EK9..

So can't really help you there.

As for drilling the center lug holes, yes, they do weaken the structure, as with everything else that gets a hole punched in them.. :P

But what holds the discs in place during hard braking is not those two tiny screws, but your wheel hub area and the lugs, which is why high horsepower cars/trucks tend to have more lugs.. 5 for cars, 6 for trucks, and up to 8 for lorries.. (O_o)

I just got things cleared up, the dude actually posted wrongly...its actually at 300mm disc. Will ask my mech bout the reliability of drilling the 4x114.3 holes on the hat. Cause at the moment the disc either comes in 4x100 or 5x114.3.

Well.. I guess that my estimations on the disc size true then, because wilwood are usually bigger than stock, and require 16" rims. I just looked at it, but never thought buying... I sort of like 15" and ek9 brakes.. they're just nice..

Now if only I'm willing to spend on a good set of VR TE37s.. :P

Actually anyone using a big brake kit for the fronts on their EK? Would like to know how it feels like. Also where are the replies on the eye bolts for the harnesses?

Eye bolt harnesses.. that one you have to ask track kakis.

I'm using an EK9 brake kit on my EG.. consider a big brake setup or not? (O_o)

a) 262mm discs + 8.2lb Regamaster Rims
b) 282mm dsics + 9.2lb TE37 Rims

=> which will give better braking performance?

They are brand new, paid less than RM4k. Yes, the rotors are 2 piece. Will take some photos this Friday.

i think theres more to it than just having monster brakes and calipers.

1. what master brake cylinder size are you using? AP Racing Master Cylinder?...etc

2. what brake fluid are you using? Dot 4?....etc

3. are you using any adjustable hydraulic brake proportioning valves to support this upgrade? Tilton?...etc

Tyres do play an important role when it comes to braking. So overall its quite subjective when it comes to best braking performance combination.

I bought it off a forumer. He hand carried it all the way back from the US. Over here can get Wilwood from Pentagon. The only drawback bout the kit is that have to use back Wilwood brake pads. I better go buy another set to keep. Anyone here knows the differences in Wilwood brake pads? Like from the highest to lowest temp.

Hi.
i was wondering.. theres so many types of grounding kit in the market.

Seller told me the thicker the better. But since im drving small kars.. like satria and kelisa. Wouldnt the thick grounding wires too much for the car to handle?

thanks.
