DVD - Branded or Chap Ayam?

Hi,

I'm plan to buy DVD player for my car.. now in my mind got 2 option.. budget 1.6k - 2k

1. DLAA extreme complete all funtion that i want including Garmin ready.. RM 1.7K
2. Sony XAV-W1.. not much function but its really nice item.. Picture is superb. RM 2k free home DVD player.. haha..

i'm ok with any option but which is worth buy? or no need to buy branded one coz DVD price will drop faster? technology improve daily and become cheaper. pls throw ur experience...

i already installed Sony W1. Satisfied. if need GPS, i'm connect to my phone using Aux channel. decide no Bluetooth since i'm seldom used.

In this case, I also rather you buy Sony player. Since its RM300 difference and if you really need a gps, just buy a separate stand alone unit la.. Branded players are eventually longer lasting. Just my 1.9 cents :P

the best thing that i realize is branded one got good receiver.. better than my stock HU..

price pay a bit high actually.. 2.2K not 2k as mention before.. wrong price quote to me earlier.. but average shop selling it at 2.5k.. some shop selling at 2.8k..

with DVD installed, my family enjoy riding and no more frust while waiting traffic light become green :proud: ..

Hi...sorry to intrude into ur thread....but since u guys are talking abt DVD players...I have a kenwood DDX6089....how do i get a GPS installed since i already have the lcd screen? Any idea if there is a device to plug in to make it work? Tx

let me share what i do..

Sony W1 got AUX in.
I've old Nokia N95.. which Garmin installed.
connect my N95 vga cable output to Sony W1 Aux.. its work nicely.. no need to buy any module..

You can add a Kenwood Garmin device there
KNA-G430 OR KNA-G431 (Its all garmin built in)
Pricing will be around RM2,500 (if I am not wrong)

Go for Sony. It's value for money. Their car AV system is good. From my experience, my player installed 2 years ago still good, even though I park my car under hot sun everyday.
