As far as driving simulators go, Red Bull’s racing simulator mops the floor with almost anything else available to the general public. Gran Turismo 5 might be all the hype now, but when the men step up to show the boys how it’s done, GT5 just wouldn’t cut it.
Recently, David Coulthard and Jason Plato had a go on the Red Bull sim. They might be the pros to us all, but Coulthard’s racing resume boasts Formula One experience with 247 starts and 13 wins. Plato on the other hand is one heck of a driver and can lay claim to two British Touring Car championships, among his other racing endeavours. He’s also the current presenter for BBC’s Fifth Gear, consistently proving his driving skills on national television all the time.
So it seems like a forgone conclusion that Coulthard would walk all over Plato right? Just hit play to find out, and keep in mind that Plato is the man that made one of the best saves ever on a track. (Video after the Red Bull one.)
