I can't remember the last time I was in the Sepang International Circuit (SIC). All I do remember was complaining about my shredded tyres, my overly sunburnt face and the adrenaline rush cornering at breakneck speeds (for my Wira it was fast ok.. but slower than the Evos, Scoobies and all la), the smell of burnt out brakes and clutches... and the sight of much-faster-than-me cars overtaking me at the straight.

When Josh from CTA invited me to the CTA event, I jumped at the opportunity since he was giving me the all mighty "go-anywhere" media pass! (Ladies room not included)

I must confess though, not keeping up with the motorsports world meant I didn't know who was who and that doesn't really make for a good article. So I'll try to compensate with pictures.

The organisers were early. Really early. Apparently some were there since last night.

These guys were busy. And damn were they good. Nothing like the smell of burnt AD07 Neovas in the morning! I personally am on these tyres and I find it damn near impossible to make them squeek much less lose traction. Either the cars have fantastic power or the drivers have fantastic skill...probably both.

I apologise for not knowing the names of the drifters even though they all seemed so familiar. I know I've seen their faces before, just couldn't put a name to the face. So if any of you drifters read this article, I have nothing but respect for the way you guys were able to control the cars the way you did and not have any collisions!

Well ok.. except for the one time this bright orange monster ate one of the cones and refused to spit it back out.

At the car show, there were a few hits and misses, but nothing beats this one example of pure balls. As someone called it : B-M-Whatja?

Like a BAWWWWSE. Seriously large wheels on a seriously phat car with seriously outrageous suspension!

This Hummer wasn't really at the car show but I suspect it wasn't because it couldn't fit. Only two Hummer limos exist in M'sia and both were at the CTA.

To give you an idea just how large these limos were, this bloke standing next to it is taller and bigger than me. I'm 173cm tall and 85kg big.

Everyone should know who this car belongs to by now. ExoticMods bright blue smurf on steroids was there for the show!

Girls were there too. All very obliging for my camera.

The track event was broken down into many categories to allow for more "fair" competition. Some commented that there were too many categories causing a long wait, but the others were happy with the fairer lineup.

There were some fast cars and there were some really fast cars. What caught my attention was this Wira A/B 1.3. Having talked to the owner he hinted a few modifications under the hood... 1.3? :thefinger:

If it's not apparent by now, I'm a huge fan of M'sias first female drifter/race car driver - Leona Chin who used to be an active ZTH-er. Always gracious to pose for pictures and the overall friendly star!

Another very interesting car was the Devil Z with the RB engine. It was giving the other cars a run for their money on the track and daaaaaaamn does this car look good.

3 separate events all happening at the same time pretty much meant spectators were spoilt for choice. Smell of burning rubber at the drifting competition? Burnt clutch and brakes at the track? Or loud booming music at the autoshow? Decision decisions.

There was supposed to be a gathering of 1000 Myvis at one of the parking lots however I was told only 400+ showed up. Having said that 400+ Myvis under one roof is an achievement by itself!

I took a lot of other photos of the day itself but am not able to share them all here. If you're interested, have a look here---> CTA - a set on Flickr.

Overall it was an interesting event with lots to see and interact with. What would I do differently? Get myself a good filter! The white cars (and girls in white outfits) paired with the hot sun really ran havoc on my cameras white balance.

Damn camera.

Nah, the owner didn't seem happy about something so I didn't really socialise. In face I didn't socialise at all. I have problems talking canto so kinda hard for bananas like me to communicate
