Hi, I bought a Camry 2.2GX Auto 1997 beginning of this year. Nice car,
quite satisfied with it in all aspects although it has clocked around 400k
km. Only problem now is : sometimes it won't start (no cranking at all,
just clicking sound when key turned to start). Starter and battery have
been changed, battery connections confirmed ok, my mechanic suspects alarm
system problem which somehow blocks power to the starter and suggests to
change the alarm system which will cost over RM1k. So I start to look for
information about the Cobra A8003 (as stated in the service booklet) alarm
system, trying to figure out what is actually the problem. Most of the
times, it will start after 2 or 3 attempts(with some delay in between). So
far there are only 2 times where it failed to start no matter what I tried,
but it started at the first attempt the next day! Anybody has the same
problem? I can hardly find any information on the Cobra A8003 on the web,
seems like the model doesn't exist!
