ATF - Automatic Transmission Fluid

better to install. coz our transmission is damn hot.

Hey rinagi..did you installed one in yr car??? If you did..where did you get and how much???

didn't install. try search this forum. this question discussed b4

I found out there is a place in Glenmarie that will fix a recond transmission oil cooler for about RM800.00 It is about 7"X21/2" cooler unit.
I also called M-Scope in Btu Caves and they charge about RM950 for a 7" cooler unit (brand new) that originates from Canada.
Will get more info after CNY.

yes ... let us know where to get it ... how much it gonna be for a complete set of it ... where and how much it gonna be for installation ...

Unless we are constantly racing the engines, why would we need atf or engine oil coolers for normal road use?

Dont you think the jap engineers would have thought about it when they designed the car and produced it between 98-2005? Were they trying to cut down production costs? Or were they trying to make profit when our engines overheat and blow to smitherins ?

Cooler have been blown out of proportion. Think about it.

Altezza is JDM ... the engineers did not expect the model to make it to south east asia.

I wonder if the local Lexus IS200 had any "mods" done at factory to adapt to our tropical climate.

Yes..agree with JayDM there..ATF coolers are meant for owners that are using their cars for racing on track. That would mean top speed and constant gear changes for the duration of the race. We are using the car for normal day to day use..don't think we need it. I have ask the guys from Trial and they told me "You DON'T need it". The other thing to consider ATF fluid leakage if there is a faulty connection between the cooler and the tranny...That will be defintely costly..hahaha

just installed oil cooler kit to my car last saturday ... i think i need it ... wanna to preserve my engine and gib=ves it longer lifespan

Where did you installed yr cooler..???
You will prob be our lab rat and let us know how yr cooler is working..hahaha..
Then will prob follow if there is no unforseeable problems...:)
