Any Classic MUSTANG fans here?

A fan here, I like the 90s design and the early 60s Shelbys to 1970 Boss. Prefer the fastback looks.... if only I could get one....

1965 Mustang all the way for me..

yup, but dunno which company u referring to...

btw, after the re-condition, since they will get the reco by Ford & Shelby, the car won't consider as Replica anymore...

Hi,

Am referring to the company Unique Performance, as for the link you can check the scam issue with the link below

unique performance - Google Search

The Eleanor is now built by Classic Recreations (Eleanor Mustang built by Classic Recreations llc - Content). Classic Recreations builds the cars at a price of at least 110,000USD to 200k USD. An original GT500 Shelby 1967 cost either close to or above USD100k from ebay. The latest GT500 might cost between USD50k to USD100k depending on the specs. Shelby themselves sells mods and kits to upgrade current cars therefore the cars could cost around USD30k plus the mods would be another 40k therefore total cost around USD70k. (http://www.shelbyautos.com/index.) Ebay also has brand new GT500s which costs around USD50k but this could be standard spec as compared to Shelby modded the cars. Where did you find out that it cost from 1.6 million USD? I would like to see the specs on that.

wow, that's quite a lot of money!! but there are a few classic mustangs running around here in classic car shows. i have also been seeing many new mustangs around kl too. there is this one imported car dealer in sunway that brings in the 5.0. latest i saw was just 2 days ago. there was a red one there.

Yeah i saw a few classic Mustangs in Malaysia as well as the 90s and the latest ones. Would love to check out the dealer man..... Hope they have the cool models with manuals. I saw one in Motortrader but hell it was auto.....

I saw a junk 1969 coupe Mustang but someone, who owns an exhaust shop, bought it. It was in Sunway, can't remember the name. But I heard he wants to put in a Supra engine, shit that really sucks.....

6 litre engine where can find bro?...mahal if want to import the gt500 engine or other 6litre and above engine...minyak also sure very2 kaw....supra...consider ok ler..even though its consider...traitorism...hehehehehe:rofl::rofl:

even nissan engine would be fine. but i've seen in the show 'overhaulin' you can buy brand new non-ori engine blocks for classic cars there. too bad we don't have that kind of option over here.

There are ways to get a V8 engine to Malaysia, but anyone who can afford a RM30k junk chassis can afford second hand engines from the US. Ebay is popular for selling off old engines and even then with these NA engines having 4.6litre with DOHC at 300+ hp and 300lb-ft of torque is good enough. Yes a Skyline or a Supra can make more but that's turbo. These engines would cost below RM10k, with tax maybe another 5k but no idea on shipping. I have checked long time ago that renting a container is around 10k, and you might not even need a container. I knew the cost of the junk cause i saw it before it was sold and thought that the coupe junk was too expensive for what it's worth. A fastback is the best looking one.

Even if you can get a Ford engine 4 - 6litre you can still try to apply for classic car road tax which is only 20-30% of the original road tax. Could always say that the original engine was stolen so needed a replacement engine. There was a 5.7litre Camaro and the road tax was only RM500.

As for petrol, who's to say a souped up turbo Supra engine is any different than a V8? This ain't a daily car and even if it was I doubt the petrol consumption would be as high as a 5litre Gallardo. Want a daily car? Then buy a Honda or Toyota for economical uses. U want performance then don't complain about petrol consumption isn't it?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Supras and Skylines and Mercedes and BMWs, but you put an inline 6 in a muscle car, the characteristics all koyak. Part of the fun is the rumble and the V8 throbbing. I have test driven a few muscle cars long time ago and even though the handling of the old cars were no different than a shopping cart, the torque from those old OHV V8s makes it worth it.

There are quite a few options out there just have to know how and of course the "moolah".

yup. nothing beats the rumble of a V8!! my ex-colleague has a cayenne turbo that is modified with tech art stuff. the V8 sounds super sweet!!!

No offence...but i hate v-8....no reason...evrybody got their own opinion....
using those old tech..like push rod valve's... kaberator, kremplin pin for the piston.... i salut those rumble and tumble....but it just not my thang~
:smokin:

no probs bro, everyone has their preferences :) but, modern european v8 are pretty hi tech too. it is the american ones that are a little behind. wonder what's keeping them from updating their engines.

European engines are pretty hi-tech and I am a big Merc fan. Merc had quite low tech engines until the 90s whereby they used mechanical injection instead of EFI while the Japs & BMWs were already using EFIs. But if you think that American cars are low tech I think you should check out the specs again. The only thing that's old is the fact that they still use OHV blocks and not DOHC or SOHC engines. But in some ways they do provide DOHC and SOHC engines for other variants, like the Mustangs. But in terms of EFI and all that, yes they are using that and more. Check out the Camaro, Ford and GM engines, most are pretty hi tech but can't be compared to the efficiency of Japanese engines. GM's high-end brand of engineering, called Northstar (from Lotus), is pretty hi-tech. We're in Malaysia that is why we are not aware of it. On performance, check out the Corvettes C6, it's a damn high-tech car. For those who think that V8s in the US are carbs, think again! He he....

Carbs are very personal preferences, I'm pro EFI but I do see the beauty in carbs. NASCAR uses carbs but with hi-tech assistance for other performances and the cars make 750hp from 5.9litres.

HowStuffWorks "How NASCAR Race Cars Work"

But let's not forget GM almost made the first commercialised electric car (EV1) but killed it assuming it was because of political reasons. That's pretty sad considering they could have had it all but let politics get in the way....as I said again assuming that it was politics....

On another note, Koenigsegg uses V8s from Ford's DOHC Modular series (90s design and used in the Mustang Cobra R) and that's supercar status....
