Question : If a ducktail has been moulded to the boot with putty or whatever you call that painters cement, is it easy to remove with a hammer? I want to remove the ducktail but can't afford someone to do it. Besides, should be fun.
hammer?? is it bondo? body fillers u can use scraper or brush grinder. don't hammer it.

don't think so. an angle saw might be easier, but as what LimauKanker said, sanding and touch up needs. it all depends on budget

just change to a whole new boot, the touch up to get the surface under the putty flawless again will be a pain in the ass.

I just want to break off the ducktail and level the putty. Then slap another spoiler on top so it doesn't need to be flawless, just level and flat

Ok.. time to try DIY! Let me see if I can get the car back this Friday

I happened to have a 2kg or 3 kg hammer lying in the store..been a while since any job i am involved in required it to be summoned.

I do believe that hammer can 'pursuade' the spoiler off your bonet.

Anyway, be very careful with the bondo/body cement...serious injury can occur. Its chemical, handle it with respect.

Is not like trying to break some cement plot using heavy hammer. In fact too heavy cannot control the knock.....lol

Putty filler probably should wear face mask and goggles la. Fibreglass base I think
As far as I know putty filler no fiber glass. Unless your car had holes to fill then they use the fiberglass type of paste....

If i recall correctly apart from being not friendly to our skin, it can cause the victim to be blind. Not sure if it apply for all type or premix type.
