Hi guys, Removed my air pump yesterday since I'm not a tree hugger! :P But now I'm having some idling problem, tried adjusting the idling adjustment screw and brought up the rev back to 750 +-25 rpm but the car seems to idle very lumpy. Tried to adjust the BAC valve but both flat head and philip head screwdriver can't seem to fall in the gap.. can't really see whats in the hole though.. Anyone has their air pump removed could kindly advice on this idling prob??

That was my post but used the wrong login name from my fren's comp :D

When you removed your air pump what did you do wit your acv and split air pipe? did you make sure to plug off the holes in the Air filter box/turbo inlet duct? I think if you're ideling +- 25rpms you have a small vacuum leak somewhere.

ACV valve removed too.. all holes plugged off... :(

This morning I had problem starting my car. Rev won't hold at all and died off couple of times b4 I manually held up the rev till engine slightly warmed up only can idle...

I don't know... I still think it's a vacuum leak. hmmm.... what about your catalytic converter? Is it still there? If it is, try removing it. If you're idles is fluctuating like that it could also be the BAC valve or the TPS or the AWS but since you didn't touch any of those.. I'm assuming they are fine..

Went to ah choy this afternoon.. The car was actually idling fine until the ACV is removed.. He checked thru all the hoses and he believes is my TPS a bit cacat.. Now the car is adjusted to idle at 850rpm! Not as lumpy as before but its not ideal.. According to ah choy he told me don't bother fiddling with the BAC to adjust ur idling.. We'll find out tomorrow morning whether my rev will hold during idling or not...

According to what I read from rx7club forum.. someone did mentioned that removing the ACV will have prob idling when cold. Ah Choy told me its bullshit though.. I'm confused.. Need to go home and study the manual.

THanks slacker.

Btw I don't have a cat anymore. Will prob get check the BAC AWS and TPS individually over the weekend or so.

ALso, from my AVC-R .. the TPS still give reading from 0% - 100%.. should do a proper check though..
