Joining in the group of manufacturers who have had their own versions of the Vision Gran Turismos, Bugatti had recently revealed their take on how their Veyron will look like when given this wild transformation.
As described by Bugatti themselves, “the design of the virtual race car is celebrating Bugatti’s racing history and is based on state-of-the-art motorsport technology”. They continue to add that “the project is the brand’s tribute to its great racing tradition of the 1920s and 1930s and its victories in Le Mans 24-hour races”.
The challenges that the designers face is that they would have to design something that will look “unmistakably like a Bugatti” and every single part of the vehicle should have a real function. It was developed in cooperation with Polyphony Digital Inc., creator of the Gran Turismo video game franchise, and the virtual race car is based on “cutting-edge racing technology and precise aerodynamic analyses”.
We can see that their hard work totally paid off as even in a simple glance, this Vision Gran Turismo instantly has that Bugatti look. Looking like a race-spec Veyron, it retains the important design language of Bugatti like the side profile, the ‘horse shoe’ front grille and the eight-eyed LED headlights.
“We wanted to develop a virtual race car for our fans which is a genuine Bugatti down to the last detail and radiates the unrestricted values of the brand. We hope that the gamers will have just as much fun racing the car as we did in developing it”, commented the designer team.
