vtec or non-vtec ??

i drive 1997/8 Civic EJ8 , auto trans. can i know the engine is under what category??? is it a vtec engine or not ??? cuz...when i hit the rpm @5000. the engine suddenly produce a big sound and the car become pick up....

sorry if this question sound stupid.hehehe. i just own it a month only.

no offense but some ppl cant really differentiate when vtec open and not, as long as they rev high (5k and above) the engine sound loud, they say got vtec... =Pp..

well im speaking about my friend tho.. hehe, didnt mean the thread starter.

search youtube for vtec sound...if it is similar then u got vtec inside...or simply check ur geran b16 or b18

haha true true all cars the exhaust will be louder when as u rev higher
