Lotus has just stepped up its game by more than just a notch. Think track-day-specials and you may think Ferrari 599XX, Zonda R, Aerial Atom, Caparo T1 and etc. Well all that's just child's play now thanks to Lotus and it's new Exos Type 125 track-day car.

Lotus unveiled its T125 to select few at the Monterey Motorsports Pro-Reunion, and it's about as close as anyone is ever going to get to owning a Formula One car. In fact, it is almost a Formula One car if you don't consider the engine limitation and other some other aspects.

The T125 is powered by a 3.5 liter V8 650hp Cosworth engine that revs up to 10,300 rpm, or 10,800 rpm if the 'push-to-pass' button is used. Weighing in at 650kg, the T125 is undoubtedly awesomely fast, and with a starter motor and a tear-down interval of 4000km, it is easy on the pockets as well, for the ultra rich that is.

Lotus says that it will only be offering 25 units of the 125 for a cool US$1 million each. Purchase of the T125 also gets the driver special track days, training, fitness and racing program with advise from actual F1 race drivers.

I don't think this has got anything to do with "Lotus Racing". A simple indication, see the logo. They're 2 separate entities. This is the REAL Lotus.

This is like giving the rich a chance to really own & drive a detuned F1 car! Maybe the want to have amateur racing F1 style! :)
