When the Anime world and Car world collide in Japan

Itasha Gathering in Odaiba, Tokyo on the 4th of October 2009. For those who are not aware, an Itasha is a car decked out with anime decals!

It translate to "painful car", which can be viewed as painfully embarrassing for the owner or painful to their wallets. It is a relatively new scene here in Japan and was very interesting to see. There were some nice example of nicely done up cars which also has the performance to match, so you can laugh at them until they whoop your ass on the track. There were close to 800 cars with not enough time to get the details but we did what was possible to show the event as a whole. Just about any type of vehicle participated in the event from VIP, Imports, Classics, K-Cars, Full tuned Sports, Wagons, Family and ECO.
Some may feel that the vehicles have been defaced and some may take a more light-hearted view. One thing that is for certain is that there are alot of creative ways to accent your vehicle with vinyl and many of the designs took alot of time and effort to create.

anime on k-kar i can see a few here in malaysia.....but how about sedan,sport car,suv,mpv?is there any...

I saw many in malaysia.....what car make also have....I don't like it at all....makes the car look very messy. I salute the good workmanship but just not my cup of tea...I prefer my car to be more simple and I would opt for a full carbon fiber body than this...

I think this is still better than those who stick whatever performance parts company brand sticker and some strikes on their car. Some even have PMU and Brembo together but F=tiny little stock brake and R = drum

Personally, I prefer dry CF with uniform patent (those rough surface one)

Those brand sticker is nice if it's original one, those cheapo cheapo by unknown brand one really out of shape...

BUT the most irritating will be stick a big big MUGEN on wira, TRD on honda, and other ridiculous sticker... really funny man...

bro u can paste carbon sticker/matt to ur whole car ...i saw1 fair lady doing this.. damn nice

yeah the best..is Mugen on protons or TRD on protons also...

but the BESTEST i have seen? MIVEC on a civic.... and MITSUBISHI windscreen sticker on a Honda !

Saw a magazine all about these anime decal on cars at a local sticker shop. And they said not cheap.

i don't know bout jap anime characters, but seen many hello kitties, and than there is also these guy with marvel characters on their car ie: hulk , spiderman, wolverine, and many others, all on the engine hood only i think....
