Streamyx - splitter prob?

I know.. streamyx sucks and its slow. But i've recently just subscribed to the Streamyx 1mbps package.

I have my own adsl wireless modem router, so i opted for the RM88 package without modem.

THe prob is, intially i couldn't get any connection, which i found out it was the splitter problem. Coz if i connect straight to the wall socket, voila.. streamyx's up and running.

So off i went to get a new splitter, which seems ok, but once i plug in the phone to the other vacant rj11 port.. doink.. straight streamyx connection went down. And it went up once i unplug the phone cable.

so tell. me.. what is the problem? THe splitter problem? or my SMC barricade adsl wireless router modem?

Xien la.. itz as good as dialup ... u know.. hook up to internet meaning i had to unplug the phones... darn. Any workaround or anyone of u guys experienced this?

Try upgrading the SMC firmware. This problem also affect several DLink products. A firmware upgrade solved it.
 
Julz, i hv experienced wat u had gone thru..
i, too opt out the modem package..
its a long story..
let me mentioned briefly..
streamyx ppl checked everything & found my fone line ok..
once installed, i js cant login in..
then told me 2 wait another day..
still same thing happen..
TM blamed on my tech & my tech blame on TM..
so says my upstairs tel line at ceiling could be broken..
& need 2 fix a new cable..
everything done & still no connection..
called my company tech & he hv da cheek 2 say he couldn't do anything!!i
i was so furious as he got no responsiblity..
I hv ban him frm company jobs..
dat idiot!!
i search 4 another IT guy & he has detected my splitter was faulty!!!
he manage 2 find the fault at once & rectify..
all dis while i hv 2 tolerate for 10 days b4 i can get connected!!
and it's all because of TM & the tech with their irresponsibe attitude!
summore wasted my $$$ 2 fix new cable..
SIGH!!!

lol i didn use splitter so i donno streamyx now got problem >"< haha
cause i m use fix ip line ^^,
cheer dude...maybe they upgrading something ^^ or maxis net call ppl kacau streamyx haha

lol... same here.. they told me port problem.. but i wasn't so interested with their explanation, which prompted me to check on the splitter. Well, true enuf, it was the splitter prob...

bloody somemore told me to wait til monday...
