According to some sources the B16B is a detuned (Shorter stroke i believe) B18C5R.

The B16A not sure, i think maybe internals?

B16A

Note: All j.d.m. B16A engines are stamped 'B16A' (with no number after the "A" to identify version).

B16B is the type R version. with higher cam lift and longer duration. Compression also higher, intake & exhaust manifold design a bit difference. The most important is it produce more power than b16a.

Northis,

whats ur point by putting those?
r u trying to educate or making a statement?

good info to share with

you all have miss out an important point for Type R engine....
all the type R engines had been go through 10000 RPM balancing from stock oem.
If I look for B series engine, I will go to Type R engine. : cheer:

1st of all compare to B16A half cut,B16B cost u how much?

thanx northiswara..

last time the b16b halfcut was around 8-9k, b16a was 5.5-6k dat time, crazy..

tats y,with diff of 3-5k,wat kinda mod we could done on B16A?

Lots of things. Can get a Jun stroker kit. High lift cams.

yeah...........
better i turbocharged the B16A and get some 200bhp++. i think the cost is the same as u buy a B18C. but different torque and horsepower.
