When the Pininfarina Sergio made its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, this stunning concept car managed to garner a lot of attention. Built to honour their former Honorary Chairman Sergio Pininfarina, this Ferrari 458 Italia-based machine looks simple yet elegant at the same time. And as a sign of appreciation to those kept asking for a production version, a small production run of six units will be made with the help of the guys from Maranello.

Like mentioned earlier, the Sergio will be using the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider as its base, and it will still retain the vital components like the 4.5-liter V8 engine and the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. But the new bodyshell will be entirely different as it is claimed to be not only stiffer than the Spider, but also 100kg lighter, giving it a kerb weight of about 1280kg.

And with the limited run of six units, you would expect that not anyone can simply come in with a wad of cash and drive the Sergio away. The car will in fact only be sold by invitation only to extremely wealthy Ferrari enthusiasts in the United States, Europe and Asia. Although they did not release the true price tag of the Sergio, it is speculated to cost between £650,000 (RM 3,419,311) to £1.3 million (RM 6,838,623).
