Codemasters Bringing the Best of Virtual Racing Through Grid 2 and F1 2012!

Looks like Codemasters will have a busy time ahead as they prepare to launch not only one, but two of the highly-anticipated games that provide the adrenaline rush through screeching tires and high rpm revs. Already famed for creating among the most realistic rally games around through Colin McRae: Dirt and Colin McRae: Dirt 2, they now put their attention back to the circuit-loving fans through the second installment of the critically acclaimed Race Driver: Grid, Grid 2.

After being launched back in 2008, Grid has been one of the top racing games there is in the market, offering a realistic experience through its incredible lineup of cars and numerous tracks from around the world. And after what it seems like an eternity, finally Grid 2 will hit the shelves in 2013 with the promise of “handpicked automotive icons covering four decades from the US, Europe and Asia”. One should also not confuse this game as another simulator as besides of the licensed tracks, Grid 2 also takes you to some picturesque, twisty mountain roads and city streets as well.

But if having to wait until next year might be a bit too long for you, then maybe their latest racing simulator, F1 2012 will fit the bill for a while. Launching in the US for Xbox 360, PS 3 and PC this September, F1 2012 will also come with a Championship Mode where it enables players to go against the six top guns in the game; Kimi Raikkonen, Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button and Michael Schumacher in a series of specific challenges.

Take for example, you are pitting against Kimi at Spa Francorchamps. The challenge requires you, a driver who had just pitted with a fresh set of tires, to go back out to the tracks, overtake the field and beat Kimi; which you have to do all those in just three laps. Are you up for the challenge?
