We initially thought that the closer we are inching to the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the more anxious the auto enthusiasts become in catching a first glimpse of a new car. Apparently the rule also applies to the auto makers as McLaren had joined the likes of Aston Martin by revealing their new 675LT to the world.

Though it is not a public debut, at least we are not left wondering anymore on how the 675LT will look in real life. To be honest, we were expecting McLaren to throw in a couple of drastic changes to give the 675LT a tougher look compared to the 650S, but obviously they had channelled most of their attention on the car’s inside rather than the looks.

The 675LT is basically a lighter and faster version of the 650S, with a track use in mind. McLaren had managed to shave off 100kg from the 650S through the extensive use of carbon fiber for the body panels, a lightweight engine, chassis, and body structure parts. More carbon fiber could be found on the extended front splitter which meets the extended door sill and additional cooling intakes on its sides.

The new aero adjustments increase the 675LT’s downforce levels which includes via the help of the “LongTail” airbrake which is 50-percent larger than the one on the 650S. A pair of circular titanium exhaust pipes also distinguishes the 675LT from its less powerful siblings.

As for the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 engine, it has been significantly updated to produce 666bhp/675ps and 515lb-ft/700Nm of torque. With the best power-to-weight ratio in its class, it gives the 675LT541bhp per tonne, 59 more than what the 488GTB gets. Zerotohundred is dealt in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 330km/h.
