A couple of days back, we have posted the new BMW M6 GT3 race car undergoing an early shakedown session as the car will soon be replacing the Z4 GT3. But it seems that lifetime rival Mercedes-Benz also has a new race car that will soon emerge in the GT racing scene as they recently released a couple of teaser images showing their new AMG GT3.
In a move that is not much of a surprise, the emergence of the AMG GT3 also means that we will soon be signalling goodbye to the rumbling SLS AMG GT3 that we adore so much. These teaser images might not reveal much, but the AMG GT3 will get the typical race car treatment of a wider track and some aerodynamic upgrades.
Aside from these images, Mercedes-Benz did not release any further information on this new race car. It will be making its public debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, and hopefully they will also be revealing the technical side of the car as well.
The SLS AMG GT3 has been racing since 2010 and achieved 182 wins and 98 pole positions. The new AMG GT3 will be making its track debut at the 2016 FIA GT3 Championship season.
