The Volkswagen Beetle might not be as high profile as the more powerful Golf R, but that never stopped some people from pushing it to the limits. Like how the Beetle 2.0 toppled the other competitors in the 2013 TIMETOATTACK Final Round VW 2.0 Above category with a 2:41.558, VW has partnered with Andretti Autosport to tackle the Global RallyCross Championship with a monster Beetle.

Displayed at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, this Beetle is a no-nonsense race machine with an all-wheel drive system and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that pushes out more than 560-horsepower. While the development of this Beetle GRC is still taking place, the team will initially compete using modified Polo rally cars, built on the chassis that won the 2013 World Rally Championship.
