Video : BMW M235i Driftmob!

1

BMW, together with a very talented team, has recently took 5 of their latest M235Is and showcased one of the best drifting videos around, with the cars sliding around a roundabout, somewhere in Cape Town.

Choreographed by famed directors Riley Harper and Mic Rodgers, this video was shot without any camera trickery, so all the stunts shown here are real. If the name Riley Harper sounds familiar to you, don’t be surprised, as he was the man behind several big movies in the past, including The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers and Ironman. The drivers are also an experienced bunch, as they too, have been involved in several stunt driving stints. The stunt drivers include stunt driver Rich Rutherford, drifters Dai Yoshihara, Conrad Grunewald, Rhys Millen and Samuel Hubinette. Combine all of them together, and it’s no surprise how well the Driftmob video turned out.

Watch the video below.

The BMW M235i isn’t a full fledged M-car per se. This M235i replaces the 1-series before that, but not the 1M Coupe. The M235i sure does look prettier than the 1-series, and word has it, that a M2 is in the works. Performance wise, the M235i is powered by a turbocharged 3.0L 6-cylinder engine, producing 320hp. Transmission choices are either a 6 speed manual, or an 8 speed automatic. BMW also throws in M-Sport brakes and electronic M-dampers. If M badges are your thing, you’ll be pleased to know that the M235i has a total of 16 M badges throughout the whole car, from rims, to brake calipers, steering wheel, bootlid, engine cover, meter clusters, side doorsills and fenders. No word on local availability for the BMW M235i yet.

Discovered the automotive scene by chance. Hooked on ever since. Can be found quite often in Sepang, just snapping photos and observing people.
